- Visitors
need a valid passport for at least 6 months to enter
to Costa Rica. Some countries also required visa.
For more information you may contact the Costa Rican
Embassy or Consulate closer to your place.
- Passport
is needed if you have to do any banking during your
stay, or if you decide to travel to another country
from Costa Rica.
- Bring
along copies of your passport I.D. page and carry
them with you. Keep the original passport somewhere
safe.
- Be
sure, to advice your credit card company, that you
are coming down to Costa Rica. Sometimes as security,
after your first charge, they block your card.
- Some
businesses don’t take credit cards, and you will
find ATM machines only at the major cities.
- You
will find better prices if you pay cash, so you
better bring some extra. Many places don’t take
bills bigger than $20.00.
- If
you plan to drive, pick up a Spanish phrase book,
you going to need to ask for directions. Of course,
this will help everywhere.
- If
you rent a car, leave it empty. Some folks also
leave the car doors unlocked to prevent broken windows.
Follow the instructions the rent a car is going
to advice you.
- Don't
bring pre-paid calling cards with toll-free numbers.
They don't work in Costa Rica. Don't let anyone
convince you otherwise.
- If
you bring electronics, Costa Rica uses 110 volts
power.
- Most
of the tap water in Costa Rica is potable and there
is no problem in our area whit tap water.
Mono
Congo Lodge is a three stories open railed building
on the Tropical Forest; young children will required
close supervision. Children under 9 are free sharing
room with the parents. Maximum 2 children and 2 adults
per room. Some guests come to us to relax enjoying nature,
others to surf, and for those who like a balance of
adventure and hammock time, we can arrange just about

For
those who want to learn something about the locals;
there are dances almost every weekend around the area
and during the high season there is almost always a
local celebration in a town nearby. We recommend rent
a four wheel drive vehicle, it can definitely enhance
your time here, especially on rainy season. Two wheel
drive vehicle are recommendable for dry season only.
